Dancing in the wind
October 20, 2009Healing!
October 16, 2009Good Morning! I am sorry I don’t get to post like I would like. A friend gave me this quote and wanted to share.
Heal the hurts of the past today, so they don’t bleed into the future.
So many family’s let each other go and don’t connect. Just think of all you are missing! God’s blessings and have a great day!
October 6, 2009
This week Randy and I received a wonderful opportunity. We will be cleaning another school and I will be slowing down on the house cleaning business. I told my clients yesterday this will be my last month. I had a sad and excited feeling all rolled up. Cleaning has been a lifeline for my family and I have cleaned for some wonderful people.
I feel like the Lord is tweaking me wanted us to go in a different direction and this is a totally different direction. I always say God needs to kick me in the head for me to know his will..my head is aching.
Have a blessed day, Candy
Letting go….
September 23, 2009Life is funny sometimes. When your children a little you pray they will become a little more independent and when they are getting older you pray the would be a little more depend or love you a little more.
I love to hug my babies and when they were little we would say fill up my hug tank- when they would hug they would say glug,glug,glug….. corny, but I loved it. The kids don’t like filling it up as much now and my tank is filled with a quick peck on the cheek and an occasional eye roll. Today I will take what I can get.
Have a great day, Candy

Five Valuable Lessons I have learned raising teenagers!
September 3, 2009- I forgot is a common excuse, but memories are like an elephant when their brother didn’t do something.
- I just found out why we have so many glasses being used everyday. “It is gross to use the glass more then once!”
- It doesn’t matter what you did for them in the past, it is what you are doing for them now.
- It’s OK to leave the windows open and the air conditioner on! Last month Randy and I arrived home after work and all the windows were open except the living room and the air conditioner was on. I asked why is the air on and the windows open? When my teenager explained, I closed the living room and I was going to get to it on the commercial, but forgot. When I was a kid and the door left open in the winter : what are you heating the outside?
- “Don’t compare me to my sister, we are different” Until she reminds us of perceived privileges or advantages her sister has had she hasn’t ….then it all about being the same and fair!
I think the Lord planned it right, we have infants that grow into teenagers and we can grow right along with them! Have a great day and God’s Blessings, Candy

Back to school, teenagers and the meanest mom in the world!
August 25, 2009Tomorrow, my children start back to school and today we are in back to school mode. This year I have a nursing student, Junior and Freshman in HS, and a eighth grader. The time is flying and when they were little I would hear “enjoy them they grow fast” and they have.
I just wanted to add I have 4 teenagers and I think the the teenage years have been the hardest. Teenagers have their own opinions and agendas. You raise them the best you can and they don’t always appreciate your ideas, love and discipline.
Here is some of what my children have told me-
- Everyone has a belly button ring…..
- Everyone has a cell phone
- you are more strict then my friends parents.
- 11 o’clock curfew my friends can stay out as late as they want… My momma told me nothing good happens after 11 o’clock.
- Your the meanest mom in the world!
I am raising my children how I was raised. You do the best you can and hope you aren’t ruining them for life and hoping and praying someday they may say Thanks Mom!
I am the meanest mom in the world and was raised by the meanest mom in the world, hoping I am raising the meanest mom in the world!
Have a great Day! Candy
Lessons Learned
August 1, 2009When I was a kid fighting with a friend. My mom would always tell me “look at the other point of view or you don’t know until you walk a mile in their shoes” When you are a kid you hate to admit mom was right until you become that mom.
Times have been tight for our family but we have stayed strong and I have to say I have learned some very valuable lessons. Here are a few:
- Don’t make your net worth more important then you self worth!
- Money isn’t everything, but it helps,
- When I thought we were sunk, somehow it always worked out better then I expected.
- Don’t lose hope!
- Tough times do build character and makes you appreciate what you have more!
- There is always someone worse off then you!
Keep your family close to you!
Have a blessed day and better days are coming! Candy
Organization
June 21, 2009Organization! There I said it but don’t have it.
No, this isn’t my home but I feel we are so busy we are out of control and it feels like this!
You know your life is out of control when….
- You show up at a a graduation party a day late.
- You forget your brother in laws 44th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Doug
- You call you brother to wish him a Happy Birthday and he informs you his birthday isn’t for a month!
- You go to rent a book and you have a $8 fine. My son, Jacob said “Mom I didn’t even rent a book about Canada” but Ben did a year earlier!
I need to get organized and get myself back in control. I know it is a process that I need to get working on and today is the day! Have a blessed day, Candy
